YantraWare
Logo

After our collaborative success working on the meditation gallery for Litesprite, Drew Stone and I felt compelled to formally organize our work and ideas together under one banner. Almost effortlessly, this manifested itself as YantraWare.

“YantraWare” is a portmanteau of yantra and ware. “Yantra” is a Sanskrit term describing a category of vedic sacred geometries used to mediate meditation. “Ware” is an English synonym for products and media. By definition we intended to “dream up” new innovations about mindful experiences via media technologies.

Collaborating with Drew, I designed this logo based on traditional characteristics of a yantra. This included encasing triangles and circles in a compelling proportion. I wanted this design to also personify a microchip processor. Moreover, we wanted this design to be minimal and memorable. We diverged from the traditional quadrilateral shape by adopting a triangular one. After a handful of back-and-forths, we embraced this design and selected a font that reflected our preference for minimalist, traditional, and futurist values.
